On Thursday Oct. 8th I went to a lecture by Jaime Salm. He talked about designing using sustainable resources and waste. This tied in with the trip we took to NYC because it had a lot of the same ideas behind it. Why waste? For example, a company named Bloomberg had 12 palettes of paper to dispose of. Instead of simply throwing it away, they had Jaime's Company, Mio Culture, design chairs for the workplace. I found the lecture interesting because besides talking about what the products are, he took us through the process of how he ended up with a successful business today.
